My first impression on The Loner was that he was rather quiet and maybe a little anti-social. He always stayed at the play ground wall keeping to himself, carrying out " boredom-beating tricks". But he never plays with the other children there.
The children, on the contrary, are a rather lively and energetic bunch. No matter what arguments they have had, they always forget and forgive and continue to play along together. The loner, who did not belong anywhere with the children, would always stay at the wall.
the children walk past him all the time, "in slow huddled groups, low talking". For all we know, they might be gossiping away about The Loner. the all have their own "familiar clique"s and they do not bother to include him in their games.They pass by one another but neither of them make the attempt to strike a conversation or aknowledge each other.
But one day he was not at the wall.
Someone said that he had moved,"To another school and place".But this also shows that the children were quite ignorant and did not bother about the boy at all if his moving away was a surprise to them. But one of them seems to have missed him as"Someone had chalked
‘watch this space’."
on the wall where he used to lean.

The Loner

I think the loner was , as i have mentioned earlier, a little anti-social. He does not seem to show any signs of wanting to join the children in playing. he just stays at the wall as though he is waiting for something to happen. He does not bother about the children nor about what they talk about as they walk past. But what i really wonder is, Why does He always stay at that particular wall in that particular playground? surely there are other play grounds and many, many more walls. Therefore, I think that something significant in his life must have happened there. It might be a happy or sad event, i do not know. But it must have mad an impact n his life , since he keeps coming back there.

The Children

the children are very cheerful and happy-go-lucky kind of people. they created a very big contrast between themselves and The Loner. They get past their differences and arguments and play together with glee. But no one seems to go near the wall where The Loner stands alone. i do not understand why the children do not play withe The Loner. They do not seem to acknowledge his presence and often just walk past him only talking amongst themselves. when wlking past him , they also talk in talk in low voices. This makes me think that they might be gossiping about The Loner, which i find a very unkind thing to do.
it would be very mean to talk bad about someone right in front of him.They all seem to have their own little circle of friends, none of them wanting to befriend The Loner. I don't think that is very nice as everyone deserves a chance. They should give The Loner a chance to show what he really is like and then decide wether to remain as friends or to keep a distance. But without even talking to him or even making eye-contact and yet keeping a distance from him seems to be extremely unfair to The Loner who might be there to look for company. Although the children are nice, hey do not show their 'nice-ness' to The Loner, which,i feel, might have made a huge difference in The Loner's life.
